When FBI agents Elizabeth Anderson (Julia Ormond) and Sam Hallaway (Bill Pullman) arrive at a local police station to investigate a series of gruesome murders, there are 3 witnesses with 3 different stories of the roadside rampage. However as the agents begin to expose the fragile little details each witness conceals so carefully with a well practiced lied, they soon discover that uncovering the truth can come at a very big cost.
