This DVD/3 CD set features Miles' Second Great Quintet, co-produced by Richard Seidel and Michael Cuscuna. The recordings from this monumental 1967 European tour are some of the only existing documentation of the band performing compositions from the extraordinary series of studio albums they did between 1965-67 - E.S.P., Miles Smiles, Sorcerer, and Nefertiti. Included are live versions of several album tracks plus Miles revisits some of the earlier classics he had been performing for years, all in strikingly different interpretations from the original studio versions. Included are 5 full-length concerts, 3 in their first authorized or first ever release, plus 2 filmed concert performances (the only known video documentation of this group between 1965-68)...all part of the 1967 Newport Jazz Festival in Europe tour produced by the legendary George Wein.
