Bossa Mundo

Vol. 2-Bossa Mundo

Bossa Mundo Vol. 2 Bossa Mundo Montage Muro Brandy Bossa Mundo

A lush and beautiful fusion of jazz, Brasilia and electronica where producers from around the world bring forth tracks inspired by the sounds of Brazil. A mesh of jazz, afrobeat, ambient and house, laced with Afro-Brazilian flavor. ABOUT THE TRACKS 1. MURO "Bohemian (Bah Samba Acoustic Mix)" Muro is the #1 beat digger in Japan, if not the world. His record collection is massive and respect for him comes from old skool NYC Hip-Hop cats who've worked with him regularly to nu-skool hipsters. Here UK live band treat his cut with some deepness and respect. Bah Samba's album has just been released in the UK. 2. TOM AND JULIE "Like Ours" Brazilian music makers based in Paris. Tom is more known for his work with Julie (check their recently released album on Yellow) 3. FRAN?OIS K feat BARBARA MENDES "Awakening" Wave Music's own FK has really come up with something special here. This collaboration with Brazilian singer Barbara Mendes got a beautiful live airing in Miami and has been in heavy rotation with discerning listeners ever since. FK and Barbara will also be showcasing this song on dates around the country on the Bossa Mundo US Tour (see below). 4. LIMBO EXPERIENCE "Deepest Seas" A fusion side project from Parisian Thomas Naim (Tom & Joyce). This time Tom's letting loose a moody vocal cut that works in sharp contrasts to his other 2 cuts for Bossa Mundo (track 2 and 8) 5. BRANDY "Ritual" Brandy is a relative newcomer from Belgium. Here he offers an example of his particular take on the modern afro tribal sound. 6. MONTAGE "Libre" Another newcomer - this time from Japan. Little is known about this man now but he's off to a good start. 7. GOTAN PROJECT "Triptico (Acoustic Mix)" Paris' Gotan Project have been blowing up since they released their album on their own label earlier this year. It sold like hot bread fresh from the bakery - even here in the US big chains like Tower couldn't keep enough copies in stock. Now signed to XL alongside the Prodigy Gotan Project are set to blow up. This tune is one of the cuts that really established them on the international scene. They like Bossa Mundo 2 so much they even offered to do interviews in association with this release so if you want to talk to them let us know. 8. TOM & JOYCE "Sem Voce" Tom again, this time with the captivating Joyce Hoze. Buy their album on Yellow too. 9. BLADE & MASQUENADA "Bahia" This is a solo project (named after the famous Brazilian tune) from Jestofunk's producer. Not from Paris this time this man is based in sunny Italy and the relaxed environment shows. 10. JERSEY ST "It's a Beautiful Thing" Jersey Street is a group of Jazzy House music producers from that madcap city Manchester (also home to Factory Records). They recently released their album "Step Into The Light." 11. MONTAGE "Nocturne Op. 7" Another gem from newcomer Montage. 12. FRAN?OIS K feat BARBARA MENDES "Awakening (NEEDS Remix)" Germany's rising House music stars NEEDS take on this classic FK cut to great affect. Keep your eyes open for these guys. Hot
