"Big Broadcast of 1938" (1938, 91 min.) - The last of the Big Broadcast vaudeville extravaganzas highlights Hope's first feature appearance - singing his signature, Oscar-winning song, "Thanks for the Memories" - and Fields fumbling through a nonsensical farce about twin brothers racing yachts to France. A horde of radio stars makes their accustomed appearances. "College Swing" (1938, 96 min.) - An incredible all star cast can't save this movie from a fairly silly plot and weak musical numbers. Based on a story by Ted Lesser, adapted by Frederick Hazlitt Brennan--and Preston Sturges took an uncredited crack at the script, too.
