You might know Stuttgart from being home of Porsche and Daimler-Benz. But Stuttgart also is home to "Kiste", the downtown, down-to-earth jazz club. Open minded musicians meet there for open sessions. This periodical event is known as "Geenius Monday". Not that Germans know how to spell right. The title derives from the host: South Korean pianist Gee Hye Lee. Finally she had the idea of canning the Geenius Monday spirit at the MPS-studio, using the original Bösendorfer Grand that the likes of Oscar Peterson or Monty Alexander used to play. Nearly forty jazzers from the Stuttgart area accompanied her for her second jazz album "Geenius Monday" (the first one was a Universal Music release), ranging from seniors like trumpeter Herbert Joos to Paul van Dyk's live drummer Flo Dauner. His father, renowned jazz piano wizard Wolfgang Dauner, calls "Geenius Monday" a recording deserving international acclaim. Let's prove he's right!
