Stygian's sophomore effort, Fury Rising, is set for release on February 9, 2010. With stick-to-the-ribs riffs, driving rhythms, catchy choruses, and a whole hell of a lot of groove, the album is the shot in the arm the music industry needs. It's an album with memorable songwriting, and although it's heavy enough for the real metal fans to enjoy, it's also diverse enough for mainstream rock fans as well. Also, instead of one style straight through or a couple good songs and the rest filler, the band utilizes some diverse sounds, yet stays true to their sound. Unlike the majority of bands hitting the scene these days, who only go in one musical direction or another (either very heavy with screaming vocals or very mainstream with no memorable riffs), Stygian incorporates a diverse collection of songs & styles that result in a worthwhile album!! Stygian also recruited the skills of acclaimed metal guitar virtuoso James Murphy (Death, Testament) to do the mastering.
