When British playboy John brings his new wife Larita - a race car-driving feminist from Detroit - home to meet the family at their country estate, pretty much everyone's expectations are disappointed. His snooty mother is offended by Larita's carefree American ways, while Larita does everything she can to get her mother-in-law to loosen up, which only annoys her even more. John's sisters have diametrically opposed feelings about their new sister-in-law, but his father is intrigued to have finally found another who sees through the family's fa ade - and takes great perverse pleasure in watching his wife meet her match.

Actors:

Jessica Biel,Colin Firth,Ben Barnes,Kristin Scott Thomas,Kimberley Nixon,Katherine Parkinson

Description:

Based on the play by Noel Coward, which was first adapted by Alfred Hitchcock during the silent era, Easy Virtue is the epitome of British wit. Laria, the American, is a Jazz Age racecar driver. After impulsively tying the knot in Monte Carlo with a young Englishman John Whittaker, she travels to England to meet her groom's privileged and batty family. Naturally, they hate her. John's mother, Mrs. Whittaker, and his sisters Hilda and Marion do their best to sabotage the newlyweds and banish their brother's shocking new wife. Only in the family's patriarch, Mr. Whittaker, does the young bride find acceptance, and the two develop a bond founded on the mutual appreciation for motorbikes and flouting social etiquiette.
