This is jazz organ music that bridges the official 'dirty thang' with space funk... Heavily influenced by both Don Patterson & Larry Young, Bill Heid continues to carry the torch for old school jazz organ. Bill Heid's singular take on the jazz organ tradition always makes for a rewarding musical experience. On this latest release, the Pittsburgh native reflects on his many years touring Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, and most recently, China. He is joined by guitarist Peter Bernstein, drummer Michael Petrosino, and conga player George Jones on select tracks. The session came together over a period of less than two days at Heid Studios in Pittsburgh, on the way from, and to, overseas engagements. As luck would have it, all the players were available to record in that small window of opportunity.
