When two orphans, Bianca and Tomas meet up with Tomas' gym rat friends, they concoct an elaborate scheme to rob an aging movie star and one-time Mr. Universe, Maciste (played by Rutger Hauer). The boys enlist Bianca to seduce the now blind star so they can get access to his hidden fortune. At once a sly psychological thriller with erotic overtones, this unique film finds a young woman faced with a moral dilemma as a unique friendship develops between her and the actor in his crumbling mansion. Based on "Una Novelita Lumpen" by Roberto Bolano.

Using Bianca as a lure for a heist they've concocted, they convince her to initiate a sexual relationship with an enigmatic blind hermit, Maciste (Rutger Hauer). But as the two spend time together, Bianca unexpectedly finds normalcy and acceptance in the aging B-movie star and former Mr. Universe's rococo mansion
