Savannah Churchill is one of the forgotten female vocalists of the 40's and 50's. This album is unique because it is the first to be devoted entirely to her work for the Manor Record label to be released on CD. Apart from a couple of recordings on compilations and a long deleted CD shared with another diva, it is her only album in the format. This 40-track 2CD set includes her huge 1947 hit "I Want To Be Loved" which topped the charts in America for 8 weeks and generated scores of cover versions. Once again, this album highlights the Acrobat principle of searching out and releasing recordings of neglected artists and this 2cd set is an important release. The booklet features a complete history of the artist and her work and includes rare photos and pictures of the original labels. A fitting tribute to one of the forgotten heroines of R&B.
